ACCESSIBLE COMMUNITY OUTREACH
We have made it our mission for 30 years to bring high caliber dance experiences and education to our community. Â Whether through scholarships or free summer programming, outreach programs like our Crystal Lake Elementary Dance initiatives, or our partnership with organizations like Watson Clinic Foundation for arts in health programming, Florida Dance Theatre is vital to our community.

ARTS IN HEALTH INITIATIVE
This year we began our Arts in Health integrations by partnering with Watson Clinic Foundation to bring dance experiences to breast cancer survivors. Â We also partnered with local nursing and assisted care facilities to provide tickets to shows as part of our passport to the arts series. Â Some of our future initiatives include expanding those programs to include "Arts for the Aging".
PASSPORT TO THE ARTS
One of our core beliefs is that the arts should be accessible. To that end we partner with organizations like Polk Theatre, Polk County Schools, and Lakeland Symphony Orchestra to provide opportunities for people of all backgrounds to experience the arts. Â Some of our past projects have included bringing in local schools to see performances with FDT and the LSO. Â Some of these students have never seen any type of live performance before these interactions!
ARTS IN EDUCATION
Our children need the arts more than ever. Dance is an art form that ties together every other kind of learning, and enhances student outcomes. Â Unfortunately, so many families cannot afford for their child to experience things like Dance classes. Â We are proud to offer scholarships to students and we work with Polk County Schools to create dance education initiatives where students can participate in high quality instruction regardless of socioeconomic standing. Each child deserves the best we can offer them.
